from FRESHLYSQUEEZED by Stephen Bard

In an off white house was an orange man
Slung his trash out into a garbage can
That had no lid, over it fell
Walking by, a little kid said, “what the hell?”
He said, “I don’t smell a thing, do you?”
Kid didn’t know if it was true

I don’t know what to tell ya

Black and blue bleed and the lines are blurred
Who could ever read such a twisted word?
Tired man knocks on a padlocked door
Not sure what he’s knocking for
In ’94, man he was 52
What on earth you supposed to do?

I don’t know what to tell ya

Man that old house party’s just a racket when
There’s only two that me and you can ever attend
Go and throw a third right down the block
The entire fucking circus goes into shock
Whole thing’s a crock and without a clue
What on earth we supposed to do?

I don’t know what to tell ya

Wondering where all the first fathers went
They all had the ability to reinvent
I’m talking re-imagination of the coming time
Brother can you spare a new paradigm?
Shredding up the documents that they all drew
Kids won’t know if it was true
